A local campaign to increase EV ownership and fund clean energy projects
Drive Electric Nyack is a campaign to help residents make the transition to emission-free driving. If you are considering going electric, the Nyack Climate Smart Committee can help you get the answers about vehicles, charging, incentives, and discounts.
Any purchase of a 100% electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle made after November 7, 2023, will contribute to the campaign goal of 70 new vehicle purchases. Achieving our goal will make Nyack eligible for a NYSERDA grant of up to $27,500. These grant funds will go toward clean energy projects in the Village.
We can connect you with local electric vehicle owners who can provide first-hand experience. And we can help you navigate vehicle options ways to save including:
NYS Rebates of up to $2,000.
Federal IRA tax credit of $7,500.
Green EZ-Pass - 10% discount on tolls.

Federal and State Incentives

Qualified Vehicles
Qualified vehicles changed in 2024: Thirteen models now qualify, including the Tesla Model Y, the Chevy Bolt EV, and the Ford F-150 Lightning. See the list here.

Reducing Emissions
Almost 87% of Nyack households have 100% renewable energy through Community Choice Aggregation. That means charging at home is 100% emissions free.
Renters are welcome. Nyack is planning on installing additional car chargers that will be available to renters.
