Adaptation and Resilience
A resilient community is supple and prepared. Our experiences in recent years—from Hurricane Sandy to the Covid 19 pandemic— have shown the importance of good advance planning, reliable infrastructure and robust networks of support to get us through and keep us thriving.
Adaptation Solution One
PLAN and BUILD TO WEATHER THE CHANGE
Climate Change brings threats to our homes, buildings and public infrastructure and can incur heavy costs. We need to make sure that we plan, invest and build wisely now to protect our properties for many years to come.

Adaptation Solution Two
PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES
Emergency Preparedness
Outreach and education in coordination with local emergency responders, Rockland County Dept. of Fire and Emergency, and Volunteer Organizations Aid in Disaster on targeted distribution of outreach, education and training is key step for making sure the community is prepared. Plans for sheltering and reaching vulnerable populations should be effective. Capital improvement planning should address potential severe impacts on roads, buildings, parks, and other infrastructure, including trees.
Adaptation Solution 2
GREEN ECONOMY AND CLIMATE JUSTICE
What does it mean. what does CLCPA say. What green jobs. What ways to promote and advance change that is fair to all.
